El Dorado Urgent Care is equipped and staffed to care for the great majority of illnesses and injuries that occur in people's daily lives.

A complete staff of health care professionals including physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, registered nurses, x-ray technologists and patient care technicians are available to care for a wide variety of illnesses and injuries.

On-site x-rays are available to assist in the evaluation and diagnosis of illnesses (such as
pneumonia) and injuries (such as fractures).

Our laboratory allows rapid diagnosis of conditions such as strep throat, mononucleosis, pregnancy, urinary infections, diabetes and internal intestinal bleeding.

Medical Illnesses

Examples of medical illnesses that are appropriate for urgent care treatment would include:

      -ear infections
      -pink eye
      -sore throat
      -sinus infection
      -cold and flu
      -acute dental pain
      -bronchitis
      -asthma
      -pneumonia
      -nausea/vomiting/diarrhea
      -urinary tract infections
      -vaginal infections
      -fever
      -skin infections
      -boils
      -rashes
      -allergic reactions
      -school and sports physicals

Physical Injuries

Examples of injuries that are appropriate for urgent care treatment would include:

      -falls from standing or low height
      -sprains and muscle strains
      -back pain
      -cuts, abrasions and other wounds
      -broken bones
      -sports injuries
      -work-related injuries
      -minor burns
      -low-speed car accidents

Emergency Conditions

There are certain potentially dangerous conditions for which patients should immediately seek care at a hospital emergency room. These would include:

      -head injuries with loss of consciousness
      -stroke symptoms such as:
          -sudden weakness or numbness
          -slurred speech
          -altered mental function
      -heart attack symptoms such as:
          -severe chest pain
          -shortness of breath
          -palpitations or racing heart
      -severe trauma such as
          -falls from a great height
          -high-speed car accidents
          -gunshot wounds
      -internal bleeding such as:
          -vomiting blood
          -passing bloody stools

For these types of conditions, calling 911 to access the emergency medical system is advised. Paramedics can begin treatment and stabilization at the scene and communicate with the destination hospital to prepare for your arrival.
